Account data
If you sign in, we store your email address and account creation time. We may also store the name and profile image supplied by your sign-in provider, your email verification time, account role and approval status.
A linked Google account record can include the provider account identifier and OAuth token, scope and expiry fields returned by Google. Your browser also stores a session cookie so the site can keep you signed in.
Your activity and agent access
We store the categories or keywords you follow and the headlines you mark as read. If you create an API token, we store its name, a one-way hash, a masked prefix and suffix, and its creation, last-used and revocation times. The full token is shown once and is not retained.
How we use it
We use account data to sign you in, manage account approval, build your personal feed, filter read items and authenticate your agent. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
Google sign-in
Google sign-in requests the OpenID, email and profile identity scopes. We receive your Google account identifier, verified email address and, when available, your name and profile image. We do not request access to Gmail, Drive or other Google product data.
Email codes and security
Email sign-in creates a temporary verification record that expires after 10 minutes. We also keep short-lived rate-limit counters tied to an email address, request IP address or API token identifier to protect sign-in and API access from abuse. Expired counters are pruned.
Analytics
There is no analytics script, advertising pixel or third-party tracking service on this site.
Headlines and cover images
Articles are collected from public feeds and APIs. For each item, we may store its headline, summary, link, cover image URL, author, publication and fetch times, source, categories and public popularity data. Each headline links to and credits the publisher.
Cover images are fetched and resized by newsvane before they reach your browser. Image requests use no-referrer behavior, so the original publisher does not receive the address of the newsvane page you are viewing from that request.
Deletion
Email [email protected] from your account address. We will delete your account and its linked sign-in records, subscriptions, read history and API token records. Temporary verification and security records expire separately.
